Working great this far! After making a few bubbles I realised I should probably read the manual to figure out what the other possible functions are. So how do you begin using Scapple? It makes sense that if you double click the screen, you get a new bubble to write text in and then you can drag it around like you assume you should be able to. That is where Scapple came in, and I decided to use it to jot down the few ideas I had for my story. I am not committed to the story yet, so working at it through November should tell me whether I want to keep writing it or not. My current work in progress is near the finish line so I figured I could participate in National Novel Writing Month by writing the first draft of my next novel. Brainstorming my NaNoWriMo project with Scapple I experienced no lagging or freezing while I was using Scapple.
#Scapple for windows software#
The small size of the software is naturally nothing but a good thing if you’re working on a slightly slow laptop like I am, of course. It doesn’t look like much, which is great for avoiding distractions, but if you like using modern and sleek apps with swooshy special effects, you might get disappointed. My first impression of Scapple was that, well, nothing much. For context, I consider myself very tech-savvy, but I also struggle with trying not to get frustrated with new things when there’s a steep learning curve or when a software or an app isn’t intuitive to use. I wanted to write this post while I was learning to use the software to give you an honest look into learning to use it. But how can Scapple best be used for planning your next writing project? Read this Scapple review to find out how it worked for me while brainstorming my next writing project. While Scrivener is a really robust and feature-rich tool for planning your novel, Scapple is a light-weight and minimalistic mind-mapping tool. If you’re familiar with Scrivener, you might know about Scapple as well.
